Title: Senior SDE

The China Innovation Group (CIG) of the Microsoft Asia R&D in Beijing is taking on a new charter in FY’13 to be the Innovation Lab for C&E (Cloud & Enterprise). We are looking for a seasoned Development Manager with great leadership skills and a strong passion for innovation. This is an exciting moment for Microsoft C&E in China as we are ready to RUN the Engineering, LAND the Go-Big, PLANT the Azure, and Harvest on the C&E Growth Plan all at the same time. This team will partner closely with MSRA and other BGs to innovate, and build products and technologies that will have an impact on Microsoft’s server and tools business.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in CIG you will own several feature areas and build a team of engineers to execute agile, rapid cycle development process. You must have excellent management competency and recent hands-on coding experience. The platform team works with a wide range of technologies, so the ability to learn and deal with ambiguity is key.
The ideal candidate:
• Designs a robust and scalable feature area and makes appropriate design trade-offs
• Has strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Takes into consideration the performance, operation, and serviceability of a feature area in his/her designs
• Proactively identifies and resolves customer, partner, and quality issues
• Identifies risks and dependencies in the schedule for a feature area
• Researches new tools and technologies and implements them into code
• Has great team building and conflict resolution skills
Excellent candidates will have 7 years or more of software development experience in multi-tier systems, and platform development and/or solution design and implementation
• Excellent coding skills in C#/C++, .Net
• Experience in SQL, WCF, SOAP, XML
• Solid technical aptitude and problem solving skills, good collaboration and communication skills
• Experience shipping multiple product releases
• Expertise on big data, cloud computing, large-scale enterprise applications is a strong plus
• A BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields with 7 years of experience as a developer
