    Enables you to present line-of-business data within SharePoint Server 2007. For example, using Business Data Catalog, you can search an Office SharePoint Server 2007 site and retrieve information from back-end systems such as customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning applications. It is a new feature of Office SharePoint Server 2007.

    Single Sign-on

    Provides storage and mapping of credentials such as account names and passwords so that SharePoint site–based applications can retrieve information from the third-party applications and back-end systems, for example, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems. This feature has been extended in Office SharePoint Server 2007 to support custom single sign-on providers.

    Excel Services

    Enables you to load, calculate, and display Excel workbooks on Office SharePoint Server 2007.

    Excel Services also allows you to view live, interactive workbooks using only a browser. You can save Excel workbooks and interact with them from within portal sites. Using Excel Services, you can control which data is displayed and maintain a single version of your Excel workbook. You can also easily reuse and share Excel workbooks on portals and dashboard.

    You can also develop applications that call Excel Web Services to calculate, set, and extract values from workbooks, as well as refresh external data connections. In addition, you can extend Excel Calculation Services using user-defined functions (UDFs).

    Web Part Filters

    Enables you to slice and dice data in data-rich business intelligence sites and enable code reuse. Web Part Filters provide a user interface (usually, but can be hidden) that allows the user to provide search or filter criteria for a query on data such as a database table or a list. When you connect a Web Part filter to one or more Web Parts on the page, they display filtered results of the query. This is a new feature in Windows SharePoint Services V3. Office SharePoint Server 2007 offers some default filters that you can use.

    User Profiles

    Enable you to search for and connect with people within your organization, based on information published about them. Office SharePoint Server 2007 provides a new search scope for searching people and supports importing user profile information from most directories, databases and web services. This feature has been extended in Office SharePoint Server 2007.

    Audiences

    Enables you to target content to people according to their membership in a particular audience. Office SharePoint Server 2007 supports targeting to rule-based audiences, Distribution Lists, and Windows SharePoint Services groups. This feature has been extended in Office SharePoint Server 2007.

    My Site

    Enables you to have a one-stop shop for all of your personal, public, and personalized information. After you create a My Site, the Profile page displays your user profile information. You can use Personal site to provide personalized and customized information. Office SharePoint Server 2007 also supports Personalization Sites. Personalization Sites are personalized views of portal sites such as MyFinanceWeb or MyBenefits. Personalization sites display targeted content to users based on their membership in a particular audience or by slicing data. This feature has been extended in Office SharePoint Server 2007.
