Hey dude,
Congrats on the visa. I've written a summary of steps ahead. Please do everything with your enrollment deadline in mind.
first few steps.
1. Log onto your MySJSU account and check for any holds(limitations) placed on your account. Until you have removed the holds you will not be able to enroll for courses.
Most probably it could be only the insurance hold. For that you have to purchase insurance from the provider listed by SJSU. Its Wells Fargo. The link is
2. Once you buy insurance the hold on your account should go in a few days. Then search for the courses that you want through the "enroll" link in the "MySJSU" landing page. You can select courses and enroll for them. Please keep in mind the fee payment schedule as well as the enrollment deadline for you as mentioned in your account.
3. Once you enroll for courses, you will be informed about the amount to be paid. You can pay either in installments or in one go.
If you want to pay in installments then you need to enroll for the payment plan and you will be charged a one time registration fees of $33. Please make note of the amounts and due dates first itself. Either take a pic on your phone or print screen.
If you are paying in one shot then note the amount and select the mode of payment.
4. You have two choices in mode of payment as well. Either Credit Card or International Wire Transfer.
The Wire Transfer Method has a lot of explanation given in the SJSU Fall 2013(Admit only) page Especially by Bharat Savani and Swapnil. Just follow their instructions. Also make sure you read the peerTransfer website for information on transfers from your location as well.
5. Finally, Try finding accommodation dude. Or at least temp accommodation so you have a place to stay when you do get to SJ.
I hope this helps.
I'm a new student to SJSU Grad for MS in Mech Engg. So I know it can be confusing and overwhelming. Just message if you need help. Hope to see you there my friend.
Cheers
Karan
