Usher in a new era of facial productivity

Miniaturisation has come a long way. Back in the sixties, computers filled whole rooms. By the eighties, they could fit on your desktop. In the nineties we got used to carrying our PCs around and, in the last decade, the smartphone has made pocket productivity a daily reality for knowledge workers across the globe. Now, with Ubuntu for Eyewear, Canonical introduces a new class of personal productivity device, so unobtrusive that neither you nor your co-workers need even know it's there.

So simple you can see right through it

Ubuntu for Eyewear couldn't be easier to use. Once the glasses are on, the entire interface appears superimposed on the user's line of vision, with documents appearing semi-transparent, to avoid blocking the user's vision.

A short punching motion replaces the a mouse click, with a full punch for a double-click. Sweeping hand movements direct the cursor, while shortcuts can be accessed by verbalising familiar commands. To save a document, for example, just shout, “File! Save!” Simple and elegant.

    Have a great hands-free day

Ubuntu for Eyewear provides a full Ubuntu desktop, projected onto the lenses of your glasses. The system is controlled by a combination of voice and gestures alone, giving the user the twin benefits of total portability and the freedom to use his or her hands for anything they want.

Spare batteries can be worn behind the ears and the system can be accessorised with a range of colourful chinstraps.

“You look like you mean business when you punch the air. Now you can mean business all day.”
