Terms Of Usage:
Due to security reasons we strongly recommend that you do NOT install
the IDES demo system in the same network as your productive environment.
Please separate the demo environment from your productive environment.
Also we do not recommend that real master data (e.g. client copy of
productive systems) is set up in the IDES system.
Please note that the IDES shipment is a service from SAP on a voluntary
basis. It is not allowed to use IDES systems in production or as
productive systems in order to generate revenue.
Content/Usage:
IDES demo systems and IDES demo landscapes are copies of SAP internal
demo systems with the data of the IDES model company in several clients.
The IDES systems can support demos, functional and tests, self-study or
functional evaluation based on the preconfigured data/clients.
IDES must not be used in production!
The IDES systems do not contain training data that are used in the SAP
training courses.
Customer training etc. based on the IDES systems are not supported.
Hardware Requirements:
The version specific hardware requirements can be found in the specific IDES notes.
Additionally the sizing tools from SAP can be used. Please have a look at the SAP Service Marketplace, Quicklink "sizing" (http://service.sap.com/sizing)
IDES Data/ IDES Client:
IDES is installed as a separate system with it's own set of data in different clients!
The IDES model cannot be merged into an existing system nor should IDES be merged with other models.
Client transports are not availble.
Demo-Content / Training Data:
IDES-Systems that are shipped to customers are copies from SAP internal
demo systems and not from the SAP training systems that you might know
from SAP training courses.
The clients used in the courses and the data used in the courses are NOT
included in the IDES shipment.
The latest training system available for customers is the IDES TS 4.6B
(Mat.Nr.51012488 and 51012489). You can order this system by opening an
OSS-message to component XX-IDES.
Support Packages / Upgrade / EHPs:
IDES specific Support Packages do not exist.
Patching and Upgrade of IDES systems are no longer supported. IDES should only be operated as a seperate installation. Each new release requires a new installation!
Due to the complexity of the IDES systems and the number of preinstalled components/AddOns it is not possible any more to generate a consistant maintenance (MOPZ) within the Solution Manager. Because of this technical restriction we recommend to wait for coming IDES versions/releases.
Kernel Updates / Kernel Patches are recommended!
SPAU/SPDD:
The Modification Adjustment can be ignored as far as you did not make own modifications.
IDES Content:
Please note that all Support Packages / Enhancement Packages / Upgrades
do not have any additional IDES-specific parts. You will not find
additionaly demo data in your system after a technical upgrade.

2. Components
The IDES installation package contains the following component:
SAP ERP 6.0 ECC 6.0 - unicode
It is the ABAP-AS which contains the data of the model company in client
800.
3. Hardware Requirements
Sizing Recommendation:
- HANA Appliance RAM 512GB (Comfortable Sizing)
- data 3 x Memory
- log 1 x Memory
- shared/Trace 1x Memory
- HANA TDI RAM 512GB (Reduced Sizing)
- data 1-2 x Memory
- log 0.5 x Memory
- shared/Trace 1x Memory
Reason for comfortable sizing: Appliance can not always be changed on short notice (add more disks) depending on the general design, etc. for the HW partner offering choice. Source: SAP HANA Administration Guide
Reason for reduced sizing: Customers can change disk layout (extension of disk areas) on short notice because they are responsible for the complete HANA Stack.

5. Installation
Please use the standard Installation Guide to install the IDES system.
The installation procedure is more or less identical to the standard
installation.
6. Usage/User
The data of the IDES model company can be found in client 800. The
clients 810,811,812 are very small and contain examples for ALE
scenarios.
In the clients 000/001 you can logon with DDIC and SAP* with the
password you have defined at the beginning of the installation as
'Master-Password', in the clients 8xx with the password 19920706 /
06071992 and in all clients with IDADMIN / ides
The system already contains more than 20 languages. Set the system profile parameter zcsa/installed_languages accordingly to use them.
7. Post Installation
After the succesful installation of the IDES system you have to install your own license using transaction SLICENSE.

- after the successful load-phase a warning will pop up ("Not all packages are loaded"). This can be ignored by chosing "Ok"
