这篇论文讨论的是组合服务的reliability prediction.
Hierarchical Reliability Model分成4个层次: data, service, service pool, service composition.
(S3.1)讨论data reliability, 作者认为"the data sent to a service may be maintained and provided by an independent data provider. Hence, the data may be unreliable…", 因此在service reliability建模时要考虑data reliability. 模型很简单, 只涉及到简单相乘.
(S3)讨论service reliability, 文中考虑2部分, 即functional reliability(跟服务本身有关)和connecting reliability(跟网络传输等有关, 针对用户而言).
(S3.2)讨论service pool, 也是比较大众化的内容, 对Figure 3的一点说明:
λm:1是指能检测到的错误发生的概率; λ1 - λm:1是指检测不到的错误发生的概率; λ1就是S1发生错误的概率.
(S4)讨论组合服务的reliability模型. 基于组合结构, 使用DTMC进行建模, 然后用steady-state方法来分析. 这些应该都是随机过程里的标准套路.
COMPSAC是一个历史悠久的会议, 今年是第33届, 不过rank并不高. 个人觉得这篇论文没什么大的创新.

个人觉得服务的局部选择方法现在研究价值不大.
