英语对句子结构得要求，比汉语要严谨的多。首先知道什么样的结构才称得上句子，有主有谓才叫句。比如‘树下的那个女孩---the girl under the tree’就不算个句子。
英语句子间的连接也很讲究，不能随便用逗号，汉语则随意的多，比如：“他起得晚，迟到了。”就是有一句很地道的汉语，而用英语表述，则必须用到连词：He got up late and arrived late.
今天是我们讲句子结构的第一课，只说并列连词，并列连接词连接连接的词、短语、从句或句子，构成并列关系。雨中常见的并列连接词有：
1. and(和)：
You and I are good friends. 连接词语：你和我是好朋友。
He went the kitchen and came back with two cups of coffee. 连接句子：他去了厨房，端来两杯咖啡。
2. but(但是)：
He feels hot but satisfied. 连接词语：他觉得很热，却很满意。
She did accept the gift but she was happy. 连接句子：她没有收下礼物，却很高兴。
3. or(或者,否)：
Do you like white or brown? 连接词语：你喜欢白色还是褐色？
Get out here or you'll be killed. 连接句子：马上滚蛋，否则死定了！
4. nor(也不)：
His socks were never washed, nor his T-shirt. 连接短语：他的袜子从来不洗，衬衫也是。
5. however(然而,无论如何)：
She never takes the risk, however small it is. 连接句子：她从不冒险，无论多小的风险。
6. for(因为)：
He felt guilty, for what he did shared the responsibility of the accident. 连接句子：他感到内疚，因为他的所作所为对这次事故负有责任。
7. as well as(也)：
He as well as his son are both friendly to me. 连接短语：他和儿子对我都很友好。
8. both..and...(...和...)：连接主语时，看做复数
Both my dad and my mum are doctors. 连接主语：我爸妈都是医生。
not only ...but also...(不但…而且…)：连接主语时，适用就近原则
Not only the students but also their teacher was excited.不仅学生们，他们的老师也很激动。
9. either… or…(或…或…)：连接主语时，适用就近原则
Either you or I am leaving tomorrow. 要么你，要么为，明天要离开。
10. neither… nor…(既不…也不…)：连接主语时，适用就近原则
Neither mum nor dad stays at home on the weekends.
周末，爸妈没有一个待在家里。
11. so(所以)：
He didn't say sorry, so I get angry. 连接句子：他没有道歉，我很生气。
