    Judicial opinions

1.Majority Opinion - Majority of the justices/judges agree with the published opinions.

A majority opinion creates a "binding precedent".

In law, a majority opinion is a judicial opinion agreed to by more than half of the members of a court.

      2.Dissenting Opinion

A dissenting opinion is an opinion in a legal case in certain legal systems written by one or more judges expressing disagreement with the majority opinion of the court which gives rise to its judgment.

When not necessarily referring to a legal decision, this can also be referred to as a minority report.

noun Law. (in appellate courts) an opinion filed by a judge who disagrees with the majority decision of a case.

      3.Concurring Decision

noun Law. (in appellate courts) an opinion filed by a judge that agrees with the majority or plurality opinion on the case

but that bases this conclusion on different reasons or on a different view of the case.

4.Per curiam(Latin, by the court) opinion

Per incuriam, literally translated as "through lack of care",

refers to a judgment of a court which has been decided without reference to a statutory provision or earlier judgment which would have been relevant.

        (Per iniam字面上翻译为“由于缺乏照料”,指的是法院的判决,该判决没有参考法律规定或之前的判决,而之前的判决本应是相关的)

      5.Plurality(多元性,胜出选票) Opinion

A plurality opinion is in certain legal systems the opinion from a group of judges, often in an appellate court,

in which no single opinion supports a majority of the court.

The plurality opinion did not receive the support of more than half the justices,

but received more support than any other opinion, excluding those dissenting from the holding of the court.

      6.Memorandum(备忘录) opinion

a memorandum opinion is usually unpublished and cannot be cited as precedent. It is formally defined as: "[a] unanimous appellate opinion that succinctly states the decision of the court; an opinion that briefly reports the court's conclusion, usu. without elaboration because the decision follows a well-established legal principle or does not relate to any point of law."

      7.seriatim (依次地,逐一地)opinion

A seriatim opinion describes an opinion delivered by a court with multiple judges, in which each judge reads his or her own opinion rather than a single judge writing an opinion on behalf of the entire court. This is a practice generally used when a case does not have a majority opinion.

    由每名法官宣读自己的意见,而不是由一名法官代表整个法院撰写意见。这是一种通常在案件没有多数意见时使用的做法。
