  • CalcHitInfo on DragOver event

    Hi,

    When using CalcHitInfo on a tree list the DragOver event, the TreeListHitInfo object has a HitInfoType of empty (most of the time, it unpredictable sometimes work for on of the cells). Using a different (but similar) event, like MouseMove, always returns the correct hit info. For example, executing the following code in both MouseOver and DragOver, will produce different result when moving over the diferrent items in the treelist (different in the sense that the latter is almost always "empty" and the earlier always correct):

                targetHitInfo = treeList1.CalcHitInfo(new Point(e.X, e.Y));
                Debug.WriteLine(String.Format("{0} - {1} - {2}", targetHitInfo.HitInfoType.ToString(), targetHitInfo.MousePoint.X, targetHitInfo.MousePoint.Y));

    Any ideas on whether I'm doing something wrong, this is a bug or expected behavior?

    Thanks,

    Charl

    Thanks to Michael from devexpress for the following :

    Hi Charl,

    This isn't a bug. The DragOver event provides the mouse position in screen coordinates. You must convert it to control coordinates, using the Control.PointToClient method:

    [C#]

    private void treeList1_DragOver(object sender, DragEventArgs e)
    {
        targetHitInfo = treeList1.CalcHitInfo(treeList1.PointToClient(new Point(e.X, e.Y)));
    //...
    }

    Please let us know if this makes sense.

    Thanks,
    Michael.

    Great work DevExpress for the quick reply!

    regards,

    Charl Marais
