LINQ to SQL will translate .NET methods in this manner:

• text.StartsWith(...) = LIKE ...%
• text.Contains(...) = LIKE %...%
• text.EndsWith(...) = LIKE %...

• var customers = (from stu in db.Customer

  select stu).ToList();
