微软今天宣布收购文件存储公司 Avere Systems，Avere 为混合云中的 Windows 和 Linux 提供了高性能 NFS 和 SMB 文件存储系统，核心技术是文件系统和缓存技术。

收购之后的 Avere Systems 将加入微软 Azure 部门。

Avere 服务的客户主要是媒体和娱乐行业，包括 Sony Pictures Imageworks、动画工作室 Illumination Mac Guff 等，这些客户都有大规模计算 Workloads 的需求。微软称像生命科学、教育、金融、制造等行业也在逐步扩大这方面的需求，Avere 能够帮助微软客户在存储方面的高性能需求。
